Vintage 1940's Bausch and Lomb Microscope Demonstration Ocular For Teaching
Also referred to as
Teaching Bridge / Observation Arm. This was used to replace the ocular lens on a microscope and allow students to see what was being seen on a slide as well as the professor. Has a small movable arrow or indicator for designating specific areas of a slide. Marked "
6.4 Power".
This was the prototype for today's very large double ocular scopes seen in most learning institutions. Overall good condition, includes case. It has been checked to ensure that all parts allow disassembly and can be moved, but the lenses appear to need cleaning. Case has B & L trademark embossed on the top and is stamped "University of Oklahoma School of Medicine". Head has the number 8 engraved on it and the shaft has what appears to be serial numbers or inventory ID numbers engraved. Has been in storage in a non-smoking climate-controlled area for many years. Can provide documentation source for it's use and attachment to microscope.
